Lucy Snyder

Lucy Snyder is the designer behind Westbranch Workshop. Lucy grew up in Westport, MA, where she lives and works along the West Branch of the Westport River. She has always had a love for design and architecture; she grew up touring houses with her family, she worked construction for her father in the summers, and enjoyed her time painting in her high school art studio.

Lucy received her Bachelor of Architecture from Miami University in 2012, and her Master of Architecture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015. During these years she solidified her love for residential architecture, while also spending many hours model building and furniture designing in the wood shops. For her graduate thesis she designed a hub for oyster restoration along the Westport River, the design of the riverfront farm to table restaurant and eco tourism hub would foreshadow the work she does for clients along the river today.

From school Lucy moved to Martha’s Vineyard, and worked for Hutker Architects. She then worked for Gale Goff Architect in Little Compton, RI.

Lucy has a love for residential architecture, not only for the process of design and the reward of the build, but also for the strong relationships she cultivates with the clients, contractors, and sub contractors. The clients homes are intimately connected to who they are and how they live, therefore it is extremely important to Lucy to get to know her clients needs and personalities.
